Next to Normal

Ground Floor Theatre has teamed up with Deaf Austin Theatre for our December Musical In keeping with GFT’s mission of producing ground breaking works by and for underrepresented communities, this production of Tom Kitt & Brian Yorkey’s Pulitzer prize winning Next to Normal will be fully deaf inclusive. Next to Normal is the story of Diana Goodman and her family., Diana has lived with bipolar depressive disorder for the past seventeen years since the loss of her infant son -- her illness has affected everyone in her life, and has nearly torn her family apart.

This is a moving story, told through an incredible score and brought to life in both English and American Sign Language.

Please know that due to an emergency, Megg Rose who is playing Diana and performing in American Sign Language will not be in the show for the remainder of the run. We feel the show is important and we did not want to cancel the rest of the run; therefore, her part will be signed by co-director Brian Cheslik.
